MAYke It Move: From Intention to Action

Last month, we tried something a little different.

Instead of another networking exercise, another stack of business cards, or another conversation about what we should be doing, we asked a simple question: What have you been putting off?

Then we asked people to get specific. Not someday. Not eventually. Not "when things slow down."

What are you committing to move forward before the next meeting?

The answers were surprisingly honest.

Some people wanted to finally launch things they'd been sitting on for months. Social media plans. Websites. Marketing campaigns. Prospecting systems. Direct email outreach. Event venues. New services.

Others admitted they were stuck on things that had nothing to do with business at all. Going to the gym. Exercising consistently. Taking care of themselves. Getting out of their own way.

Which, if we're being honest, might actually be business-related after all. Humans insist on bringing their entire lives into everything. Very inconvenient, but apparently unavoidable.

A pattern showed up across almost every card.

The obstacle usually wasn't a lack of knowledge. People knew what needed to happen.

The obstacle was procrastination. Fear. Overthinking. Time management. Focus. Perfectionism. Waiting for the "right" moment.

The usual suspects.

What was encouraging wasn't just what people wanted to accomplish. It was how many were able to identify the very first step. Not the entire plan. Just the next move.

Schedule the webinar. Make the call. Use the software. Create the ad. Put it on the calendar. Go once.

That's where momentum starts. Not with giant breakthroughs. With one action that's small enough to actually happen.

The Power Connectors team is following up with participants throughout the month because accountability works a lot better when it exists outside your own head. Several members specifically asked for text check-ins, emails, and the occasional persistent nudge. We were delighted to discover that people voluntarily requested this. A fascinating species, networkers.

If you weren't at the meeting, or if you forgot to fill out a card, it's not too late. You can join the accountability challenge here.

As we move into June, we're carrying that idea forward.

Progress doesn't have to be dramatic. It just has to move.

So if you filled out a MAYke It Move card, expect to hear from us.

And if you didn't? Consider this your reminder.

What's the thing you've been putting off?

More importantly, what's the next step?

Let's move something forward. Together.
