The Art of Connection

In April, we did something a little different. Instead of building the night around quick intros and business cards, we built it around people who create things. People who take ideas, emotion, skill, and time and turn it into something tangible. Then we put them in a room with a bunch of business owners and let it play out.

The Artists

We had a mix of work in the room that you don’t usually see in a networking setting, which was exactly the point. There were pieces built from reclaimed wood through Water & Wood, using materials most people would have thrown away and turning them into something intentional. Flow State Decor and Fluid Art by Lisa brought layered, fluid, mixed media work where movement and color carried the conversation. Tom Cat Entertainment brought something completely different, creating art in real time through balloon work and face and body painting that people could actually interact with.

Jozartt (Elevenated Inc.) brought portrait work rooted in storytelling and expression, while Barry Steven Greff Fine Art Photographs showcased landscapes, wildlife, and cityscapes that have been recognized well beyond Colorado. Montanio Fine Art explored the tension between realism and expression, using contrast to say more than either style could on its own. Brush Crazy brought painted work across acrylics and oils, while Pooka Studio focused on texture and the kind of detail that pulls you in the longer you look. Desert Grit Fine Arts approached the human experience more directly, creating work centered around struggle, connection, and shared perspective. We also had ELEV8 Arts represented, which ties into why this kind of event matters in the first place. Creating space for art, access, and community isn’t just a nice idea. It’s something that has to be done intentionally.

Why This Mattered

Art gives people something better to engage with. It changes the starting point of a conversation and makes it easier to move past surface-level interactions. That’s what we were after. Not a perfect event. Not a format we have to repeat forever. Just a different kind of room for one night.

Thank You

To the artists who showed up, shared their work, and opened the door for those conversations, thank you. That takes more than just setting something on a table. To everyone who came out and supported them, thank you for being part of it.

To our event sponsors, Christine Richard - Fairway Home Mortgage, Frank Villagrana - Colorado Lending, David Ganderton - Ganderton Law, Beau Hughes - Farmers Insurance, Brandy Pendleton - Pendleton Heating & Cooling, Joe Fyffe - AV Excellence, and Alex Roldan - Super Moving Bros., thank you for stepping in and supporting this night. And to The Public House at The Alexander, thank you for hosting us and sponsoring the giveaway. We appreciate having a place that allows us to try things like this.
